“A big weekend for me doing the World on Wheels Otterlo race in Holland and driving with my team mate Hilde straight to Switzerland for the World Inline Cup Zurich. The World on Wheels race was about a 700 metre course with a nice s-bend before the finishing straight. Many attacks were made throughout the race but none successfully getting away. I stayed behind my team mate Hilde for a lot of the race. Our team mate, Manon, led the last lap as hard as she could and got to the corner before the s-bend where Hilde and I passed Manon and got a nice gap around the s-bend on the other girls. Hilde finished 1st and I finished 2nd right on her wheel with Manon 3rd place but was relegated to 4th due to apparently stepping out in front of a girl in the home straight.
Hilde and I left for Switzerland at 9pm and drove around 5 hours to a hotel in Germany where we stayed the night. We woke up at 9 and drove another 3 hours to Zurich where we quickly ate spaghetti and got out skates on for the start. Zurich is a tricky, hard course with train tracks and many holes in the road. Many girls fell throughout the race due to the tricky course but my team mates and I luckily stayed on our feet. I was feeling very good 2 laps to go but my team mate was off the back so I went to get her to bring her back to the pack but doing that I was tired and she got back to the back but I dropped off. Hilde got a nice 4th place, Elma 14th and I ended up in 20th place which im pretty happy with. I am going to Switzerland this weekend for another World Inline Cup which I am looking forward to.”

Victorian skater Brooke Lochland was placed a close 2nd in the ‘World on Wheels’ event in Staphorst, Holland.
